Important MO/IL Information:
Missouri: POA requires principal's signature + 2 witnesses. No state estate tax (repealed 2005).
Illinois: POA requires notarization (no witnesses needed). Estate tax exemption at $4M; rates 0.8%–16% on excess.
Federal: Estate tax exemption ~$13.99M per individual (2025), subject to sunset provisions.
Neither state has an inheritance tax.
