AI platforms and online generators can produce a document quickly and cheaply — but a prenup is only as valuable as its enforceability. Courts care about:

• Full and fair financial disclosure
• Voluntariness (no pressure, adequate time before the wedding)
• Fairness and lack of unconscionability
• Proper execution (signing, notarization)

AI tools and generic forms can’t:

We use a clear, structured process so you know what to expect.

Step 1: Strategy Call (20–30 minutes)
We talk through your situation, your goals, and whether you need drafting or review of an existing agreement. We’ll also discuss timing, other counsel, and fees.

Step 2: Information & Disclosure
You’ll provide financial information (assets, debts, income, business interests, equity, expected inheritances) so we can advise you on what Illinois courts will consider “full and fair” disclosure.

Step 3: Drafting & Review
We prepare a draft tailored to your facts, or we review and revise an existing draft if you bring one. We explain the major provisions in plain English and make sure you understand what you’re agreeing to.

Step 4: Negotiation & Revisions We coordinate with your fiancé(e)’s attorney as needed, answer questions, and work through one or more rounds of revisions to get to a deal both of you can live with.

Step 5: Signing & Record
We manage timing, execution, and notarization so the agreement is signed properly and the process is well documented.

We offer transparent flat-fee options for most Chicago and St. Louis prenups:

Writing Prenup Package — $1,200

• Drafting of the agreement
• One client review meeting
• One negotiation meeting
• One round of revisions
• Coordination of signing and in-person notary (where feasible)

Review-Only Prenup Package — $800

• Review of an existing draft (from another attorney)
• One review meeting to explain the terms and flag concerns
• One negotiation/discussion session and one set of suggested revisions

Expedited Add-On (less than 90 days from wedding) — $400

More complex matters may require custom pricing, which we’ll discuss upfront before you commit.

Do we each need our own lawyer?
It’s strongly recommended — and courts look more favorably on prenups where each party had a meaningful opportunity for independent counsel. Our standard approach is to represent one spouse and encourage the other to have their own attorney review the agreement.

How far before the wedding should we start?
Earlier is better. Ideally, you should start the process at least 5–6 months before the wedding so no one can argue they were pressured or surprised. Best practice is to sign the agreement at least a month before your wedding. Can we work remotely, or do we have to come into the office?
Most of the process can be done by video and email. For signing, we’ll coordinate notarization in a way that complies with Illinois or Missouri requirements and works with your schedule.

I already used an online/AI tool. Can you still help?
Yes. Those online or AI tools are helpful in that they show us what terms and agreements you and your partner have already discussed. That’s a great step forward. But, you’ll still need to complete our full intake (due diligence is one thing online and AI tools miss); and it would fall in our writing prenup package. What if I live in Chicago but I’m getting married elsewhere? We’ll talk through where you live now, where you expect to live during the marriage, and any other relevant jurisdictions, then advise you on the best governing-law and venue approach.

How do I bring up a prenup with my partner?
