Contact us if you have questions about your specific situation.

At our firm, we guide you through every step of creating your prenuptial agreement with clarity and care. Below is our streamlined process designed to protect your interests while ensuring a smooth experience during this important time in your life.

1

Initial Consultation

Timeline: 30-60 minutes

We start with a consultation to understand your goals, explain how prenuptial agreements work in Missouri and Illinois, answer your questions, and confirm our flat fee. Once you decide to move forward, we send your engagement letter and welcome materials.

2

Intake Questionnaire & Asset Disclosure

Timeline: 1-2 weeks

You’ll complete our comprehensive intake questionnaire and asset and debt inventory forms. Full, honest financial disclosure by both parties is essential — it forms the foundation of your agreement and is critical to making it enforceable.

3

Document Review & Follow-Up

Timeline: 3-5 days

Our team reviews your submissions and schedules a follow-up call to clarify any details, discuss your priorities, and confirm how you’d like specific assets, income, and inheritance issues addressed.

4

Agreement Drafting

Timeline: 7-10 days

We craft your personalized prenuptial agreement based on your specific needs, circumstances, and the priorities we discussed — written to be clear, balanced, and enforceable.

5

Draft Review Meeting With You

Timeline: 3-5 days

Before anything is shared with your partner, we meet with you to walk through the draft section by section, explain what each provision means, and make revisions until it accurately reflects your intentions. The draft is only sent out once you approve it.

6

Partner Review & Negotiation

Timeline: 1-3 weeks

The approved draft is sent to your partner and their attorney for independent review. We exchange redlines, address proposed edits, and negotiate any open terms on your behalf until both sides reach an agreement they’re comfortable signing.

7

Signing & Finalization

Timeline: 1 week

Once all parties agree on the final version, we coordinate signing — including notarization and the recommended waiting period before the wedding — and provide each of you with executed copies for your records, giving you peace of mind.

Important: Additional hourly rates may apply during extended negotiation or revision phases. The typical process takes 4-6 weeks from start to finish, though timing can vary based on complexity and responsiveness of all parties involved. We recommend starting at least 90 days before your wedding date so there is ample time to complete each step without pressure.

Questions? We’re here to help.

We’re committed to making this process clear, collaborative, and respectful of your goals.
